Do Not Despise Humble Beginnings

Hello! My name is Miasha Priscilla Wilson.

I am the owner of Cilla Art Creations and have handmade all of the creations I have for sale here, except where noted either in the item description, title or pictures. I wanted to write a few lines about myself and Cilla Art Creations.

A little about me

I grew up in a pretty close-knit family and have a brother and two sisters (who are twins so I guess that makes me the quasi-middle child?). My father lost his life to cancer in 2002 and my mom suffered brain damage as a result of cardiac arrest in 2003. My siblings and I were homeless for some time after that. My family has been through a lot together and I think our close relationship is what keeps us going. Without them and their support, I wouldn't be who I am today.

My crafting has been extremely therapeutic for me. It is my hope to use my creative gifts to share joy, happiness and kindness with others.

A little about my creative expression

People often ask me, “What is your favorite color?” and are, perhaps, disappointed by my non-biased “they are all my favorite colors” response. However, since I can remember, I have always loved colors and playfully matching and combining them in unique ways. Sometimes, the final creation is utterly stunning. While other times, it can only be described as a “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” creation! Notwithstanding, it is always a joy to be able to take “raw materials” and assemble them in such a fashion that they speak and tell a story with which others may identify. I hope my artwork speaks to you.

A little about Cilla Art Creations

The name “Cilla” comes from my middle name Priscilla. “Art Creations” is indicative of all of my creations (jewelry, cards, journals, paintings, sculpture, creative writings, items I have sewn). I started creating jewelry in the fall of 2011 when I became unemployed. It started as a hobby to pass the time and keep me in good spirits while waiting to hear back from potential employers. However, it quickly became almost an obsession. As you may be able to tell from my de-stash listings, I have accumulated quite a collection!

After a while, people asked who made my jewelry and whether I could make them something. I've sold my jewelry at several local arts and craft shows and decided to try posting items online. If you have a specific interest, please let me know how I can help, I would enjoy the challenge of creating a custom item for you or your loved one.

Take care and have a wonderfully blessed day!
